Allbritton Family Rules

Treat others how you want to be treated

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12

Love each other deeply from the heart

…love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 19:19b

Be kind and tender hearted

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

Obey right away, all the way and with a happy heart

Children, obey your parents in the LORD, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Ephesians 6:1-3

Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the LORD. Colossians 3:20

Think happy thoughts

…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Count your blessings

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Always tell the truth

The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful. Proverbs 12:22

Do not whine or complain

Do everything without complaining or arguing. Philippians 2:14

Look after each other

Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. Philippians 2:4

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Show respect to adults (Mr./Mrs., May I? Please, Thank you)

He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. 1 Timothy 3:4

Remember that our LORD Jesus said, "More blessings come from giving than from receiving." Acts 20:35
