The week has been pretty quiet. Mommy is fully recovered, Daddy is 90% there. Tate didn't blink an eye at the cold we all suffered and even fended off an exposure to strep earlier in the week.
On the subject of our big boy, Tate has been a total champ with his chore cards as of late! These are cards I made on the computer and laminated that list his jobs with pictures - feed the dogs, set the table, brush your teeth, put the clean silverware away - at the bottom of the card pile is a "special surprise" card. It is not always there, but when it is he gets a super great surprise! The day this picture was taken he got this awesome Life is Good shirt with a little boy feeding an ice cream cone to his dog! He digs it!
Tate has been spending a lot of quality time with our feathered girls lately. He will go out to see if there are any eggs and if there aren't any yet, he will wait until there is. He walks around with them, talks to them and pets them. Sometimes he gets a little frazzled when they try to peck at his shoes, but he is getting used to it. I like it because he is spending a good amount of time outside in the fresh air.
Here are two pictures of a gorgeous rainbow in our backyard this week. We have been getting daily rain showers in the afternoon and this was one of our rewards! And of course, we were reminded of God's promises!
Tate and Daddy wrestling ....boys!
And Chase, our cute little angel! He is opening his mouth for the egg yolk, but as you can see, most of it still doesn't stay in! Two days in a row now, our little messy faced boy has been waking up in the wee, dark hours of the night (3ish or 4ish) talking and babbling. He goes on for about 20 minutes and then drifts back to sleep. Mommy, on the other hand, does not!!! So I have been going to bed early - 8:45 pillow time for me! :)
Finally, our garden is giving us a plentiful bounty of greens! This is one of our big dinner plates full of one morning harvest. The salads do taste fresher! What fun it has been to see things grow. Next year, I will give Tate his own row and let him grow whatever he wants.
