My Example

I am doing a Bible study on Proverbs 31 in a book titled Your Price is Far Above Rubies. It is from the Above rubies ministry, which I adore. Anyway, the study has been pretty good, I am going through it with a few friends. This morning I just read through a poem titled "My Example" that inspires me to be the person I want to be for my children!

I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day,

I'd rather one would walk with me than merely point the way.

The eye's a better pupil and more willing than the ear,

Fine counsel is confusing, but example's always clear.

The lectures you deliver may be very wise and true,

But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do.

I may not understand the high advice that you may give,

But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.
