Tate and I went to the post office yesterday to mail the cards holding our family DVD (yes, they are in the mail and should make it before Christmas). By the end of our weighing and stamping, the total was given ($1.03) and I peered into my wallet and found no paper money! This is not unusual, credit card is my purchasing modus operandi. With a questioning look, I asked the post master "credit card?" She just looked like, are you kidding? A light bulb went on and I said "check!" And she said it is the "same". So I was humming and hawing over what to do (...drive home and promise to return with the dollar, buy extra stamps to bring my purchase up to a credit card-appropriate total) and all of a sudden, the woman who was getting her package ready to ship beside us said, "I have a dollar! It is the season, right?" I was stunned. I am not necessarily comfortable bumming money off others, but it was such a sweet gesture! I said, OH MY! Take my change to cover a little bit of it...she said "no, just pass it on!" So it was the Christmas dollar!
