What a perfect day! First we finished our Advent calendar by putting baby Jesus in the manger. It was fun to see Tate get more and more excited with each passing day!
Stockings were first, which were filled by Santa. Santa didn't get a lot of attention this year, Tate just didn't really get into it. We are going to talk about the history of St. Nicolas when the time comes...there are some really terrific picture books out there...more on that next Christmas.
Santa brought Tate some Thomas socks and a train whistle - very cool!
Santa brought Chase a little snake hold toy that can be twisted and turned.
Then it was time to bust open the presents...look at the stash! Tyler and I decided that each one of us would only get 3 presents each, but as you can see, with the addition of family, it grew to quite a larger number.Next year we may need to knock our presents to each other down to 1 or 2!
Then it was time to play with the loot!
Of course, the box held more of an interest for Chase than most of the other toys (check out the turned out leg...he is on his way to crawling!).
Tyler's special surprise was his all-time favorite Christmas treat - ginger snap cookies (his mothers recipe from his childhood)! Tate and I mixed, pour and blended together and made him this surprise right after breakfast.
Then we relaxed, played and around 3, mommy hit the kitchen again to prep some more food for our Christmas dinner with our friends - the Seevers and Liffengrens. The evening was fun, until Chase became pretty adamant about being put down for bed! :) It was totally cool, we like to be home by 7 anyway! Lovely Christmas....thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Jen! If Tyler's mom would allow it, you should publish the Ginger Snap cookie recipe. They look yummy.
