well, at least for this year. I was called to serve my fellow citizens in jury duty today. I was fairly prepared; several of my friends told me what to expect. Stocked with plenty of food, water and books, I headed out this morning bright and early, ready to sit, and sit I did. Around 8:30, we were given a tutorial on what to expect and then presented with a informative DVD (this will be fun, you are needed, we try to make this efficient, yada, yahda, yada). Then we waited and waited some more. At least I got some good reading time in.
Finally, around 10:15 a few women walked in from one of the judges and called around 10 people in the group of the approximately 70. Two minutes later, another woman took roll for the rest of us and then dismissed us because the rest of the cases did not go to trial.
Yeahhh…good to be back home around 10:45!
