My 1 1/2 Year Old “Baby”

Today I was thinking about how much faster time goes than when I was a little girl. Summers felt like they would stretch on until I was practically ready to go back to school. I remember thinking, how can adults just work day in and day out without a break? So strange! And I used to think how “stoked” I was I wasn’t going to be an adult any time soon! Well, it happened, I turned into an adult – at least the years tell me I am. But one thing I can’t figure out still, how does time go so fast now!? I suppose there is more to savor, more to love, more to cherish. I want more time to do fun things….watch the boys play, start yet another book on my to-read-pile, make a nourishing meal or laugh at one of my husbands hilarities. I have more memories, my days have more responsibilities. Whatever the case, I can’t believe that now I have an almost 5 year old boy and a little “baby” that is 1 and a half years old!

I remind myself that Chase has been a baby longer than most his age. He is just about to walk and I know once he does that next phase of independence kicks in and he won’t want me carrying him around as much, cuddling him as much and kiss on his neck as much. I have cherished every second. One thing is for sure, my arms are a little buffer than before from toting around this little chubby, yummy 22 pound baby boy. And every “weight lifting” session is a joy, 100 times over.
