Big 5 Year Old Tate!

Friday was Tate’s birthday. It has been the main topic of discussion all week. Thursday, Tate’s classmates celebrated his birthday with cookies and a crown (as seen on Tate’s head below). Finally, Friday morning arrived. We had French toast then shot this video:

The day was great, it started with a swim lesson with his buds Micah and Isaac. We then headed over to Vitamin Cottage and I told him he could pick out anything he wanted. His choice…a bag of Gorp – peanuts, raisins and chocolates. He has had his eye on those bags for a while. After a trip to the library, we headed home, had some English muffin pizzas and headed down for a nice nap. After a little Thomas on TV, we headed out to meet Daddy for a much needed haircut.

Tate requested rice patties for dinner and we finished up a pumpkin pie for dessert. THENNNNN…out came the presents! Legos from Uncle Blake and Aunt Melissa, a box of Trio from Grampa and Grandpa and a race car driver outfit from Grampa and Papa. We gave him a DVD of Balto and An American Tale and a few Lightening McQueen friends (from the movie Cars). The big finale was two bins full of a wooden train set – Thomas no less – that my friend Donna bestowed on us before she left CO earlier this month (THANK YOU DONNA!). The train set was the biggest hit, here the boys are playing…which was resumed Saturday morning bright and early!
