For Chase’s Birthday he started the day off bright and early. I had a little nutrition talk at Tate’s school right around 8 AM. Chase joined the little 3s class while I was chatting with a few parents. This is the second time he has joined this class and when I came to pick him up after I was through with the talk, he fussed and cried because he wanted to stay…Chase ready for school! I don’t think so! :)
Anyway, we headed home to play trains and read some books. I made a yummy lunch and we took a lovely 2 hour nap (well, Chase did). We swiftly took off to pick up Tate after nap, hit the library on our way home and played some more (while Mommy prepped dinner) and waited for Daddy to come home.
As soon as Daddy arrived, he and Tate prepared for the festivities – balloons, birthday banner, pinned on the Birthday Boy pin, etc. We had dinner (quickly), sang happy birthday, enjoyed our carrot muffins and opened the gifts. Chase loved every second of it!
Favorite parts: blowing the party favor toy and ripping off the wrapping paper!
The loot: A tool box similar to his brothers with new play tools that I found at the thrift store for next to nothing; a pounding toy that the balls roll through; a talking birthday bear and Thomas board book from Grandpee and Grandma; money from Grandma and Papa; Pooh movie from Aunt Melissa and Uncle Blake; the complete set of Little House on the Prairie TV show from Grandmommy and Granddaddy (this is a little old for him right now, but Tate loves it so there is about a 99.9% Chase will too). All and all it wasn’t over the top, but I think he will enjoy everything.
