Happy Birthday Tyler!

Tyler turned the big 35 today. The first half of the 30s didn’t seem IMG_5487like a big deal, but 35! WOW! How fast it goes.

We started the day with presents and cake with green frosting. Tate could hardly contain himself. He got some new salt and pepper grinders (yes, very kitchen, less gift-like I know) and a new smoking book to get some fun ideas for his new toy. IMG_5492

Daddy’s breakfast of choice was French toast and bacon, which everyone partook in happily. Then for the rest of the day, he pretty much worked on the garage project, poor birthday-boy. But it had to be done. We have Granddaddy coming out in March to help finish up the project, so there is another deadline and we are going to stick with this one, we must, we are so ready to have our house back to normal!

For dinner, Tyler got one of his favorite meals – ribs! We bought a half of a hog a few months back and we rubbed some spices on the outside of the spare ribs and threw them into the smoker (his main birthday present) for about 5 hours and bammm…finger-licken’ good ribs (from pastured pork of course)! Tyler was very impressed.
