Tyler and Tate are on a fun-filled visit with Grandmommy and Granddaddy in Texas, while Chase and I have a quite, restful, lazy weekend at home. In my down time, I am getting some last bits of work done around the house in preparation for “Allbritton Clean Sweep 2010.”
All the recipes I have collected over the years are being organized (if not tossed) into sections in a accordion folder - yikes what a job! And all my little “piles” of magazines and articles I have been meaning to get to for the past 2+ years are mostly being thrown away. It feels good to get rid of “stuff!”
I am even taking a break from cooking full meals. Chase and I are quite content with avocado pudding, zucchini muffins, green beans and leftover crockpot brisket. So overall, it has been a lovely start to our restful time at home. Chase still asks for Tate when he wakes up and every time the dogs bark he says “Dadddyyyy,” thinking it he is arriving home from work. But it only takes a few minutes to get re-directed onto the next fun toy or book that grabs his attention.
Chase talked to Tate and Daddy on the phone today, I could tell he felt so grown up! Tomorrow is Saturday and I hear we are to expect another cold and rainy day. I think we will play hard in the morning, do some more house work, get in a solid nap and then put on a movie, pop some popcorn and cuddle on the couch in the afternoon. Don’t get me wrong, Chase and I miss Daddy and Tate VERY much, but we are making the most of our special time together…Carpe diem!
This picture is from a few days back, Chase was “manning” up in his workmen goggles and Tyler’s old cell phone case hooked to his pants…of course while he was chatting away with Grandmommy on the phone (which is one of his new favorite activities).
I look this today, Chase looks like a perfect little boy China doll, doesn’t he? I wanted to show off his new haircut. Chase’s cut was long overdue, so I went to town and made a mess of things. Tyler backed me up (as usual) and fixed it all up…now he has the perfect summer cut, clean and close!
