A friend of mine – Steph Briggs – has been honing her skills at drawing as of late. She visits us up in Evergreen once in a while and last year she took a picture of Chase during one of her visits. She then decided to use that picture as the model for a drawing. I was so surprised when she sent me a copy of her artwork, shocked really! I was in tears it is so precious and special. I decided about two seconds after seeing her work that it would become Chase’s special adoption picture to hang in his room (Tate has the same poem hanging in his room too). It has taken me months, but I finally put the drawing in the frame and printed out the accompanying poem, here is the finished product.
THANKS STEPHANIE – what a precious gift that will be treasured always!
The poem is difficult to read in the picture, here is what it says:
Not flesh of my flesh
Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart,
But in it.
