It’s Official!

Last Tuesday, August 19th to be exact, the boys and I were reading at darling little book titled A Heart for Jesus. It is a story about a Mom who gave her heart to Jesus, but the little girl still hears her heart beating so doesn’t understand what it means to give your heart to Jesus. The Mom explains it very well in kideez and at the end of the cute book, the Mom walks the kids through the salvation prayer. When I finished reading the prayer in the book, Tate turned to me and said “I want to pray that!” So I read each line and he repeated them after me, genuinely from his heart. It was very exciting!

I always expected the experience to be monumental, the clouds parting with song and rays of sunshine beaming from the heavens. However, it wasn’t that way. I figure Tate really already knew what he was saying about believing Jesus died on the cross for his sins and that he is sorry for all his wrongs and that he wanted a new heart. He actually even said that he had said those things before. But I told him, the difference is, he is now old enough to really, truly understand. So Tate is officially saved, YAHOOO!!!!!

We bought him a new Bible to commemorate the event, he has been flipping through the pages lovingly.
