Thanksgiving 2012

A lovely time was had at Allbritton Thanksgiving 2012! We had a nice mix of new and old friends and family – it was fun! Mom and Jerry brought their friends Dan and Janet, my friend Julia happened to be in town to help round out the celebration and bring some much-needed playmates for the boys. We had the usual Thanksgiving feast and many leftovers to spare.

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is our Gratitude tree, this year we collected sticks from the backyard and made leaves to hang, the boys really got into it. I saved the leaves for next year so we could go back and reminisce.

Chase pulled out the turkey hat and said, “I’m a turkey, you can baste me!” I didn’t even know he knew the word baste! Then we made little pinecone turkeys, they looked much cuter in the blog post, a crafter I am not! Smile

Pumpkin Carving

For some reason we let pumpkin carving go to the last minute…I think we even did this after Halloween, but the boys still had a ball! And the black mullet hair is Tyler’s go-to costume that the boy’s thought was hilarious!

SUPER HEROES!

My Super Heroes attend school last Friday and Monday in full garb! They had a ball and without much candy (so I had a ball too!) Smile

I made felt eye masks, but then found out they were not allowed in school (uggg). Of course, they didn’t give the same rules to Chase’s class so he wore his felt mask, but after I painted Tate’s face, he wanted the same thing….hence the raccoon eyes without the cape.

“Patty Hat”

St. Patty’s Day was yesterday and there was a lot of celebrating. We started the day with green eggs and green milk while wearing our sparkly green hats. Since Chase loves hats, he wanted to wear his all day and everyone we ran into on our errands thought it was adorable (which was absolutely correct!). If he had to take off his hat for any reason he would say, “where’s my Patty hat?”

Superman!

Chase fit perfectly into the Superman costume Susan made Tate so many years ago. SO cute! We went to Fall Family Fun Night at our church for about an hour and then headed home. The boys did some star-gazing and then off to bed. Fun night!

Tate St.

Tate has never really asked to be anything specific for Halloween. IMG_6755So I ran into this idea and decided for him this year, he is dressed up as a road, Tate St. to be exact! We attached cars to a black shirt and pants with yellow duck tape and a road sign. It turned out pretty cute!

Easter

Seeing how I just downloaded Easter pictures, I realized how long it has been since I updated our blog!

Easter was a lovely day, starting with Easter baskets loaded with lots of goodies, church, a nice long nap and then joining the Seevers family for an egg hunt and dinner. Fun was had by all!

Christmas Eve Odds and Ends

Today is Christmas Eve. The day has been filled with a lazy morning, lots of playing, sledding and much anticipation for what tomorrow will bring. Sorry for the delay in posting the past week, here are some highlights.

We brought out the boy’s tent, they rolled around half naked for about an hour.

Tate’s concert was last Thursday, here he is dressed up in Daddy’s tie and his made-to-order crocheted Christmas scarf.

On a sunny afternoon before the last snowfall, the boys played out on the deck.

Now Tate likes to pose for some reason! Whatever it is, I like it!

Every night we light our angel candles at dinner and both Tate and Chase blow out one each.
